Halong bay

June 14, 2010

Yesterday we started our junk boat tour. At first we had to take a 4 hour bus ride to the boats then we got on and started sailing. After an hour of sailing we had lunch on the boat. It was so good. I we had fish that was not very good, some octopus salad that was weird, there was also fish cakes, squid that I liked, some beef and the lady that was next to us had tofu. Once we got to the spot to park the boat we got on this little one and they brought us to a cave that we hiked through for an hour. It was one of the biggest caves in the world. After the caves, we were walking to the bought to go kayaking when we saw something in the water. So we found a stick and brought it close to the dock and found out that it was a horse shoe crab. It was so cool. But sadly it was almost dead. Finally we got to go kayaking. It was so much fun because there are lots of caves that you can go into. Apparently there are almost 2000 islands. When we got back the junk boat we went swimming and we all (accept mom) jumped of the top level. I hurt my hand though because I slapped it on the water. Later that evening we had supper then went to bed. The next morning we got up and traveled a ways to the biggest island and there we booked our hotel room and went to monkey island. There we only saw 1 but he tried to attack one guy in our group. It was funny and I got it all on tape. He asked me to video him feeding it when he decided to attack. Luckily the monkey missed and didn’t bite him. After a quick dip in the water we came back and soon we will be having supper.
