Great Barrier Reef
today... or your tomorrow... well any way, for us today we woke up at 6:30 am to go on our snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. we got to the place to get the pass then boarded 75 foot catamaran sailing ship. we departed the pier at 10 past 8. it was a long but fun ride out, it took 2 hours but it was fun. once we got out we took a little glass bottom boat to this small cay from which we walked out to the reef. it was a cool island but it smelt like rotten fish and bird poop. on the reef the first new thing i saw was the giant clam. it was huge and purple. i also say a bunch of sea turtles that i could almost touch.i also saw a huge moaroiw rasse. it was maybe 4 feet long and very cool. once it was lunch we had sandwiches, watermelon, pasta carbinara, salad and prawns. it tasted grate but i kept smelling the islands disgusting aroma. eventually we left for the next spot. there i was the second in the water while mom was questioning whether she would even come in when i saw 2 sharks swimming 30 feet under us. so i weld that there were 2 sharks and right away she jumped in and came to see. they were about 6 feet long. they were white tipped reef sharks so they were harmless unless you feed them so we kept our food in the boat. after some scuba divers scared away the sharks i went to fined something else that could heart me, sadly there were no more sharks so i settled for another 4 foot long grouper that i almost touched. later on it the trip mom and Miranda were on the boat so me and dad thought we would be dune to, wile we were swimming for the boat we came in contact with a school of jelly's. i didn't know what was going on till it was to late. me and my dad both got stung lots of timed but i got it the worst. i had hundreds of stings on my arm 5 or 6 on my hand a few on my back some on my stomach and lots on my lips. we got to the boat and put on some stuff the make it feel better and no it was not pee it was like vinegar. if that was a box jelly i would be dead for sure. luckily it wasn't thou and I'm still hear.after an unpleasant ride back of pain mostly on my lips and arm we finally got back and the pain mostly went away. right now it doesn't hurt at all but it does Itch a little. well it was still a fun trip, bye.

fishing
May 14
Today me and my dad went fishing . We had to wake up at 7 and we left shortly after. At first we had to get some bait. The captain had a big net and got a bunch of little fish for bait. We all caught a lot of different kinds of fish. Once we had a lot of bait we went for real fish. My dad caught 2 coral trout. In china, coral trout can be worth $150 a piece. So we are going to eat them for supper…um… dinner. We didn’t catch any more coral trout but lots of other kinds. When we got back I had lunch and brownies. Soon we will eat dinner and I hope it will be good.

Birds, frogs and horses
May 12
Yesterday we took a plan from Brisbane to this different town which I cant remember the name of. Here we are staying at a very nice ladies house. She said that her daughter has a bunch of horses that my mom and sister could ride. So today we went to see them. On the way we saw a cassowary . They are one of the weirdest looking birds I have ever seen. They are almost as big as an emu and have blue heads. They are not scared of you at all so we got a bunch of very good pictures. Once we were done with him we went on to find some bananas because we were hungry. When we found a place they were picking them and one man had a white lipped green tree frog. It was very cool. Me and Miranda got to hold it and once it hopped from Miranda’s hand onto my shirt and just sat there. Those frogs could stick to anything.
So we got our bananas and went to this river because we were too early to ride the horses anyway. When we got there we saw this cool water fall
and we stayed there for a long time when suddenly mom looked at her watch and saw we were late to see the horses. When we got there the lady wasn’t there yet so we got a tour of the banana plantation there too. Once the person running the place was done the tour we found 2 more frogs. So we played with them for a while until Miranda could ride. Once she got on she was very exited. Finally my mom went on and had lots of fun. When we got back we ate tacos and started to write on our blog. And that’s how our day went, bye.

toad bashing
Yesterday me and Riley went toad bashing. It was so much fun. Toad bashing is when you go out and kill as many cane toads as possible. We probably killed 9 or 10. The reason you kill them is because they are poisonous and they kill lots of dogs and other animals. They are not poisonous enough that they would kill you if you touched one but if you made toad stew you'd be in trouble. The government actually organised a time on every Sunday when they go out and kill as many as possible. Hopefully we made a dent in the population, cheers.
platypus
Hi, I’m supposed to be writing in my journal now but I would rather write on my blog so hear I am. Yesterday we came to this city called Brisbane. We are couch surfing hear to and have been doing good. Today we went platypus hunting well not hunting them of course just looking for them. Hear are some facts about them.
They live in burros in the mud
They don’t like people
Very hard to see or find
They are one of two mammals that lay eggs next to the Australian hedgehog
Look like a beaver/duck/muskrat
The males have a spike on their back foot that will not kill you but will make you pass out from the pain before you make it out of the river, everything here will either kill or hurt you in some nasty way.
sadly we didn't see one but maybe next time. Right now we are about to have mussaka. It looks very good so I really must dash, see you later.

camping by the ocean
My tiny little fish
The possum in our campground
Byron bay. The most easterly part of Australia
The beach at our campgroundHi everyone lately I have been doing a lot of fishing because our camp that we are staying at is right beside the ocean and there are lots of fish. I caught a bream which didn’t fight very good I also caught a puffer fish. When I brought it out of the water it puffed up. I also caught 2 mullet. That was very rare because they don’t like normal bate because they eat flies so I tried bead because it floats and they loved it. Right now we are driving to a different town and we gust saw a bunch of kangaroos. I’m not sure what kind they are bet they were in the fence with some cows.

Koalas
yesterday we finally found a wiled koala in a golf corse. it was so cool and extremily hard to fined. once my dad finally saw we took tuns of pics but only a cuple turned out good.
once we went to a tourist info place the man said there was a little animal park so we went there to see and pet a koala. once we got there the person that owned the park showed us them and let us pet them. we also got to see hundreds of kangaroos and a lot of emus. i also got to pet a wallabee. oh ya mom showed us the e-mail you sent us grandma saying that we didn't write our own blogs. that was very ofensive because i spend all this time writing then you give my mom all the credit. how would you like it if i came over for thanks giving supper and you were cooking all day and when i come over i say wow mom you must have spent lots of time cooking this. thats how it made me feel!cheers.
